N26 offers a bank account with a Mastercard debit card. Standard is the free option; Go and Metal are paid plans with different cash withdrawal fees, insurance and travel benefits. Ask a hotel or rental company whether it accepts a debit card for the deposit.

Which N26 account works for travel?
Standard is free and suits people who mostly pay by card. A physical Standard card carries a one-off €10 delivery fee. Smart costs €4.90 a month but does not remove N26’s 1.7% fee on non-euro cash withdrawals. Go costs €9.90 a month and removes that fee; Metal costs €16.90 and adds protection and one included airport lounge visit per calendar year.
Choose Go if you will use its travel insurance and higher cash withdrawal allowance. Metal suits travellers who also value the extra protection and lounge visit. Paid plans start with a twelve-month contract, so consider the full annual cost.
