Travelling via Amsterdam Centraal to Schiphol, Brussels or Paris this weekend? Major engineering restrictions apply from 3 to 5 October 2026. Eurostar is cancelling some trains and removing station calls from others. A service that still runs may therefore no longer depart from the station on your original ticket.
What changes each day?
No trains run to, from or through Amsterdam Centraal on Saturday 3 October. Sunday 4 October brings fewer services on the Haarlem–Amsterdam–Weesp corridor towards Almere and Hilversum. On Monday 5 October, affected routes include Zaandam–Schiphol and Amsterdam Centraal–Muiderpoort/Utrecht. NS expects particularly busy trains during Monday’s rush hour.
Eurostar: cancelled train or missing station call?
Eurostar’s cancellation list includes Sunday services ER9422, ER9434 and ER9476 from Amsterdam to Paris. Monday’s list includes ER9301 from Brussels to Amsterdam, ER9415 from Paris to Amsterdam and ER9398 from Amsterdam to Brussels. Other services have cancelled station calls. Check both your train number and boarding station.
Protect your onward connection
For a flight from Schiphol, a route via Amsterdam Zuid or Sloterdijk may be worth considering; the best alternative depends on your starting point and departure time. Allow extra connection time using the current NS journey planner and engineering information. The overnight Centraal–Schiphol train is replaced by a bus during the night of 3–4 October.
If your Eurostar is cancelled and you do not use the ticket, you can exchange it free of charge in the same travel class, subject to availability, or request a refund. For direct bookings, use Manage your booking; if you bought elsewhere, contact the original seller for a refund. Exchange before heading to the station. These options cover the affected train journey; they do not automatically protect a separately booked flight.
