Engineering work will significantly alter trains between the Netherlands and Belgium on 17 and 18 October. EuroCity will skip Brussels Airport, Eurostar will not call at Antwerpen-Centraal and Eurocity Direct will run on a shorter route. The changes also affect passengers taking the train to catch a flight.
No EuroCity stop at Brussels Airport
SNCB International says EuroCity services between Rotterdam and Brussels will not call at Brussels Airport-Zaventem this weekend. They will also skip Antwerpen-Centraal, but will still stop at Antwerpen-Berchem. Passengers heading to Brussels Airport will need a different connection.
Eurocity Direct will mainly run between Amsterdam Zuid and Antwerpen-Centraal. Only early train 9523 will still start in Brussels, while late train 9572 will continue there. The section between Lelystad Centrum and Amsterdam Zuid will also be suspended, according to NS International.
Eurostar skips Antwerpen-Centraal
Eurostar services on the Amsterdam–Brussels–Paris route will not call at Antwerpen-Centraal from 06:00 on Saturday 17 October until 22:00 on Sunday 18 October.
This also matters for KLM passengers with an Air&Rail ticket from Antwerp. Their train journey to Schiphol is included in the flight booking. Check My Trip for any changes and contact KLM or your booking provider if the arrangements are unclear. Confirm any change of boarding station with them first.
Booked your airport train separately?
Plan the journey again all the way to the airport station, including any additional transfer. Work back from the arrival time you need for check-in and boarding, rather than simply from your flight’s departure time.
Before taking another service, check whether your rail ticket is valid on it. The options for a separate train ticket may differ from those for a combined rail-and-flight booking.
