JW Marriott has opened its first all-inclusive property: JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort & Spa in Costa Rica. The hotel page lists 30 September 2026 as its opening date; Marriott announced the opening on 6 October. The resort is on Playa El Jobo in Guanacaste, on the northern Pacific coast.
415 rooms and a separate Griffin Club
The resort has 415 rooms and 15 dining and drinking venues combined. Marriott’s figure includes restaurants and bars; it does not mean fifteen separate restaurants. Wellness and family activities form part of the concept.
The Griffin Club offers a separate resort-within-a-resort experience, with additional facilities including a private lounge, pool and beach area. These benefits belong to eligible club bookings rather than automatically applying to every room.
The starting price is per person
Marriott quotes a starting rate of US$900 per person, per night, based on double occupancy. For two adults, that means from US$1,800 per night, before any additional amounts shown during the final booking process. This is a starting rate, not a guaranteed price for every date.
For travellers from the Netherlands, compare the entire trip: flights, the transfer to Playa El Jobo and the stay together. A hotel rate alone does not establish the cost of the holiday. Check which restaurants, drinks and activities your chosen rate actually includes.
The resort is part of Marriott Bonvoy. The opening does not establish award availability or a fixed points price. Check those separately for your dates on the official hotel page.
