British Airways is adding Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar to its summer 2027 network. Buenos Aires will also gain a daily nonstop service from London Heathrow, continuing to Santiago. The new Tanzania service will depart from London Gatwick.

Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar from 29 May

The Tanzania service is scheduled from 29 May to 31 October 2027, with three flights a week. Aircraft will fly from Gatwick to Kilimanjaro, continue to Zanzibar and then return to Gatwick.

British Airways plans to use a Boeing 777 with three cabins: Club World business class, World Traveller Plus premium economy and World Traveller economy. Kilimanjaro provides access to northern Tanzania’s safari areas and the mountain itself, while Zanzibar adds a beach destination to the same flight pattern.

If you want to visit both destinations, check the individual flight segments and stay dates when booking. The route pattern does not automatically mean that every ticket includes a stay in both places. See our guide to travel insurance requirements for mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.

Daily nonstop flights to Buenos Aires, Santiago via Argentina

From late March 2027, British Airways will change its Heathrow–Buenos Aires service to a daily nonstop flight. The aircraft will then continue to Santiago, so the Chilean capital will still be served with a stop in Buenos Aires.

The changes form part of a wider Latin American expansion. British Airways expects a 25% increase in summer 2027 capacity across the region, measured in available seat kilometres. This refers to the regional network, rather than a 25% frequency increase on every route.

Check which London airport your flights use

For travellers from the Netherlands, the distinction between London’s airports matters. Tanzania departs from Gatwick; Buenos Aires and Santiago depart from Heathrow. When booking a connection, check whether all flights use the same airport. A transfer between Heathrow and Gatwick requires a journey by road or rail and additional time.

The Argentina changes provide a nonstop sector from Heathrow. For Tanzania, there will be another option through Gatwick, serving Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar in one flight pattern. Compare the total journey time and connection conditions before booking.
