British Airways revamps its A380: 106 Club Suites across the upper deck

British Airways is renewing all four cabins on its Airbus A380. The biggest change is upstairs: the entire upper deck will have 106 Club Suites. The first refurbished aircraft is expected to enter service in the coming months, so the new interior is not yet standard on every A380 flight.

An entire upper deck for business class

The updated Club Suite will have a privacy door, a fully flat bed and direct aisle access. British Airways will divide the 106 seats into four cabin zones. Storage and the self-service kitchen will also be refreshed.

For travellers, the combination of privacy and direct aisle access is particularly useful. Check the actual seat map when choosing a flight: during the refurbishment programme, the A380 aircraft type alone does not tell you enough about the business-class seat.

First, premium economy and economy also change

The new layout will have 417 seats: 12 in First, 106 in Club World, 84 in World Traveller Plus and 215 in World Traveller. British Airways unveiled the refurbishment on 5 October 2026.

First will receive new private suites. Premium economy will have larger entertainment screens and privacy wings beside the headrest, with a 2-4-2 layout. Economy will receive new, wider seats and larger screens. British Airways also describes Bluetooth for passengers’ own headphones and USB-C charging in the refurbished interior.

When can you book the new cabin?

British Airways has not yet named a specific first flight date or guaranteed route for the first refurbished aircraft. The rollout will begin with one aircraft, starting the transformation of its A380 fleet.

Weigh up the complete itinerary, fare and booking conditions. If the new cabin is your main reason for choosing a flight, check the seat map again shortly before departure. A cabin announcement alone does not guarantee that your flight will use the refurbished aircraft.
